Derrek Lee hit 2 doubles and had 4 RBI as the SSB SSB Tar Heels topped the
Chainsaw Proctologists by a score of 12 to 7 at Minute Maid Field.
Jeremy Guthrie(5-2) got the win but did not look spectacular. He gave up 4
runs, 8 hits and 2 walks in 5 innings. Chainsaw had a chance to come back in
the 9th but they came up short.
Steve Trachsel(1-4) was charged with the loss. He allowed a few too many
baserunners giving up 13 hits and 3 walks in 4 and 1/3 innings.
'We won because we did the little things right.' Craig Ahrndt said after the
game. 'This is why we practice things over and over and over, so when we get
in close games we don't make mistakes.'
